The iX3 50 xDrive has a projected 0-60 mph acceleration time of 4.7 seconds and an electronically limited top speed of 130 mph. It introduces BMW’s sixth-generation eDrive technology, utilizing a new cylindrical-cell lithium-ion battery. This system operates on an 800-volt architecture, which allows for faster charging and improved efficiency compared to previous BMW EVs.

Operating on an 800-volt architecture, the system supports DC fast charging at up to 400 kW under optimal conditions. BMW estimates that approximately 230 miles of range can be added in about 10 minutes during high-speed charging sessions.

Charging from 10 to 80 percent capacity is expected to take roughly 21 minutes, depending on conditions. The system also supports bi-directional charging, enabling Vehicle-to-Load (V2L), Vehicle-to-Home (V2H), and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) capabilities. The iX3 will come standard with a North American Charging Standard (NACS) port and include an adapter for compatibility with the Combined Charging System (CCS).
