Honda has revealed the lease options for the 2025 Honda CR-V e:FCEV, which marks the introduction of the first production plug-in hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicle manufactured in the United States. Leasing for the CR-V e:FCEV will commence in California on July 9. Prospective lessees can choose from three options: a three-year lease at $459 per month with a 36,000-mile limit, a six-year lease at $389 per month with a 72,000-mile limit, or a two-year lease at $489 per month with a 60,000-mile limit. Each lease includes a hydrogen refueling credit, with the three-year lease offering $15,000 in credits.
The CR-V e:FCEV features an EPA-rated driving range of 270 miles. It combines a U.S.-produced fuel cell system with plug-in charging capability, providing up to 29 miles of electric vehicle driving for shorter trips and the convenience of hydrogen refueling for longer journeys. The vehicle will be available through 12 authorized Honda dealerships across California, including six in Southern California, five in the San Francisco Bay Area, and one in Sacramento.
The leasing terms include up to 21 days of Avis rental vehicle access in California, 24/7 roadside assistance, and eligibility for California’s Clean Air Vehicle Stickers, which permit single-occupant use of high-occupancy vehicle (HOV) lanes. The lease options are based on a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $50,000, and there is no option to purchase the vehicle at the end of the lease.
Standard features of the CR-V e:FCEV include a 10.2-inch digital instrumentation display, a 9-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, wireless phone charging, a 12-speaker Bose audio system, power-adjustable heated front seats, a heated steering wheel, dual-zone climate control, a power tailgate, parking sensors, and bio-based leather seat upholstery. The HondaLink system offers expanded capabilities such as hydrogen station information and power supply data. Additionally, the Honda Power Supply Connector provides up to 1,500 watts of power, enabling the vehicle to supply power to small appliances and equipment.
The CR-V e:FCEV is assembled at Honda’s Performance Manufacturing Center in Marysville, Ohio, and represents the debut of the second-generation Honda Fuel Cell Module, developed in collaboration with General Motors and produced at Fuel Cell System Manufacturing LLC in Michigan. This new module enhances durability, efficiency, and refinement, while reducing costs compared to previous models. Honda’s involvement with hydrogen fuel cell technology dates back over twenty years, beginning with the Honda FCX in 2002, which was the world’s first zero-emission fuel cell electric vehicle to receive certification from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the California Air Resources Board (CARB).
