Toyota has introduced the Nightshade edition for the 2025 Prius, expanding the hybrid lineup with a darker aesthetic. Based on the XLE grade, the Nightshade edition includes several design updates such as 19-inch black-finished alloy wheels, blackout badging, black shark fin antenna, black front door handles, and black bumper trim. The interior also features unique black SofTex-trimmed front seats with gray stitching and carbon fiber detailing on the dashboard. The new trim is available in an exclusive exterior color called Karashi, along with other options such as Midnight Black Metallic and Wind Chill Pearl.
The Nightshade edition is part of the 2025 Prius lineup, which also includes LE, XLE, and Limited grades. All Prius models are powered by Toyota’s fifth-generation hybrid system, paired with a 2.0L inline four-cylinder engine. This combination delivers 194 net horsepower in front-wheel drive models and up to 196 horsepower with the available electronic all-wheel-drive system. Fuel efficiency remains a strong point, with EPA estimates of up to 57 MPG combined for front-wheel drive models and 54 MPG combined for all-wheel-drive variants.
Inside, the Nightshade grade comes with a 12.3-inch Toyota Audio Multimedia screen, which supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility, as well as over-the-air updates. Additional standard features include an eight-way adjustable driver’s seat and six USB-C ports. Safety features such as Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Cross-Traffic Alert, and Safe Exit Assist are standard across all grades.
The 2025 Toyota Prius lineup starts at $28,350 for the LE grade, with pricing for the Nightshade edition yet to be announced. Toyota’s warranty includes a 36-month/36,000-mile basic warranty, along with a hybrid battery warranty covering 10 years or 150,000 miles.
