Hyundai has introduced a hybrid powertrain for the first time in the Palisade lineup with the unveiling of the 2026 model at the New York International Auto Show. The hybrid variant is equipped with a 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-four engine paired with two electric motors integrated into a six-speed automatic transmission. The combined output is estimated at 329 horsepower and 339 lb-ft of torque.
Hyundai estimates that the hybrid Palisade will achieve over 30 miles per gallon on the highway, with a targeted total driving range of up to 619 miles. The hybrid system allows for up to 4,000 pounds of towing capacity. A new “Stay Mode” has been added to the hybrid, allowing continued use of infotainment and HVAC systems while parked, by monitoring the battery system.
The 2026 Palisade features an updated platform with expanded dimensions, including a 2.5-inch longer body and a 2.7-inch increase in wheelbase. The vehicle retains its three-row seating configuration, with new available features such as front- and second-row Relaxation seats, third-row power adjustment with heating, and upgraded infotainment systems.
Safety technologies include ten airbags, an advanced rear occupant alert system, a built-in dual-camera dash cam, and Hyundai’s full SmartSense suite of driver-assistance systems. Additional digital convenience features include a Wi-Fi hotspot, wireless over-the-air updates, and Hyundai Pay integration for in-car purchases.
The hybrid version of the 2026 Hyundai Palisade is scheduled to go on sale in the United States in early fall 2025. Production will take place in Ulsan, South Korea.
