Kia has introduced its new all-electric compact sedan, the 2026 EV4, at the 2025 New York International Auto Show. The EV4 is the company’s first global electric sedan and is built on Kia’s 400V Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). Production of the vehicle will take place at the Autoland Gwangmyeong EVO Plant in South Korea, with U.S. sales scheduled to begin in early 2026.

The EV4 will be available in three trims: Light, Wind, and GT-Line. Battery options include a 58.3 kWh pack for the Light trim and an 81.4 kWh pack for the Wind and GT-Line trims. The EV4 Wind is estimated by Kia to have an all-electric range of 330 miles, while the Light trim is estimated to offer 235 miles. Charging from 10 to 80 percent state of charge is expected to take approximately 29 minutes for the Light model and 31 minutes for the Wind and GT-Line variants via DC fast charging.
The EV4 features a front-mounted 150 kW motor and front-wheel drive. The vehicle includes aerodynamic enhancements such as a full underbody cover, resulting in a drag coefficient as low as 0.23 Cd. The suspension system uses a MacPherson strut in the front and a multi-link setup in the rear.

Design elements are based on Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ philosophy, combining a low nose, long tail, and fastback roofline. Exterior features include vertical LED lighting and available 17- or 19-inch wheels, depending on the trim. The interior includes a floating interface, two-spoke steering wheel, and nearly 30 inches of combined digital display across multiple screens. Available features include ambient lighting, wireless Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and Kia’s AI-powered voice assistant.
The EV4 supports Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality for powering external electronic devices. Additional convenience options include Digital Key 2.0 and over-the-air (OTA) update capability.

Driver assistance features include standard Highway Driving Assist, along with options such as Driver Attention Warning, Forward Collision Avoidance Assist, Lane Following Assist, Intelligent Speed Limit Assist, and Remote Smart Parking Assist. Hands-On Detection is standard for monitoring driver engagement.
The EV4 is part of Kia’s ongoing expansion of its electric vehicle lineup in the U.S.
