Kia America has introduced the 2026 Kia EV9 GT at the 2024 Los Angeles Auto Show. This high-performance version of Kia’s three-row electric SUV features dual electric motors providing an estimated 501 horsepower and achieving a targeted 0-60 mph time of 4.3 seconds. The EV9 GT includes an electronically controlled suspension, marking a first for Kia SUVs, which adjusts damping based on the selected drive mode or a dedicated GT button.

The EV9 GT has an upgraded braking system, larger front brakes, and an electronic limited-slip differential for improved cornering stability. It also includes a virtual gear shift system to simulate traditional automatic transmissions and in-cabin electric sound effects to enhance the driving experience. Despite its performance upgrades, the vehicle maintains a towing capacity of 5,000 pounds and 7.8 inches of ground clearance.

This model integrates advanced technology, including an 800-volt charging system capable of charging from 10-80% in under 25 minutes using DC fast chargers. Starting in 2025, all EV9 models, including the GT, will feature the North American Charging Standard port for wider charging access.

Exclusive design elements distinguish the EV9 GT from other trims. The exterior features unique 21-inch wheels, high-performance tires, and GT-specific lighting and air flap patterns. The interior includes neon green accents, sport seats with Alcantara inserts, and unique ambient lighting. A 12.3-inch display screen and over-the-air update capabilities allow for future feature enhancements.

The EV9 GT is equipped with a comprehensive suite of advanced driver assistance systems, including forward collision avoidance, smart cruise control, and parking collision avoidance assist.

The 2026 Kia EV9 GT will be assembled in South Korea and is expected to arrive in late 2025. Pricing details will be announced closer to its release date.
