The 2026 Subaru Uncharted is Subaru’s latest entry into the electric vehicle segment and will reach U.S. retailers early next year. The compact crossover is positioned as the most affordable EV in the company’s current lineup, starting at $34,995 before the mandatory $1,450 delivery charge. Including delivery, the entry model begins at $36,445. Subaru states that the vehicle will offer an estimated range of more than 300 miles on a single charge in its base configuration and up to 338 horsepower in its higher-performance versions. The Uncharted is intended to serve as a smaller and more maneuverable alternative to the Solterra EV, with emphasis on ground clearance, standard driver-assistance features, and compatibility with the North American Charging Standard.
Subaru positions the Uncharted as an electric compact crossover with standard equipment meant to mirror features already familiar to its internal-combustion customers. Every Uncharted comes with 8.2 inches of ground clearance and a 14-inch touchscreen running the Subaru Multimedia System with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. A distraction mitigation system is also standard, as is a power rear gate and Subaru’s EyeSight suite of driver-assistance technologies. Subaru reports that these systems will vary by model but will generally include features such as pre-collision braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-based safety functions.
The Uncharted will be offered in three trims: Premium FWD, Sport, and GT. Subaru notes that the Premium FWD trim will be available in limited quantities. It is the only front-wheel-drive variant in the lineup and the only model expected to exceed 300 miles of manufacturer-estimated range. Power output for this configuration is listed at 221 horsepower. Standard equipment includes 18-inch wheels, heated front seats, heated side mirrors, a heated wiper de-icer, a digital key, dual wireless phone chargers, multiple USB-C ports, a 120-volt outlet, and dual-zone climate control. This model has an adjusted base price of $36,445, including destination.

The Sport trim builds on the equipment found in the Premium FWD model but replaces the single-motor drivetrain with a dual-motor system and Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive with X-MODE. Combined horsepower rises to 338, and estimated range falls slightly to more than 285 miles. Pricing for the Sport trim starts at $39,795 before destination, or $41,245 including the delivery charge. Subaru adds several convenience and safety features to this model, including low-profile roof rails, a 360-degree heated steering wheel, StarTex upholstery, surround-view monitoring, Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Change Assist, and memory settings for the driver’s seat. An 8-way power passenger seat is also included.
The GT trim is positioned at the top of the lineup with a starting price of $43,795 before destination, or $45,245 including delivery. It retains the same 338-horsepower dual-motor all-wheel-drive system as the Sport but has a slightly lower estimated range of more than 270 miles. Subaru differentiates the GT with convenience and visual upgrades such as a panoramic glass roof with motorized sunshade, ventilated front seats, heated outboard rear seats, a Harman Kardon audio system, and a digital rearview mirror with HomeLink. The GT also offers 20-inch wheels with a gunmetal finish and access to optional two-tone exterior paint depending on color choice.
All versions of the Uncharted use a 74.7-kWh lithium-ion battery pack. Subaru states that the vehicle includes a battery preconditioning system shared with the 2026 Solterra and 2026 Trailseeker models. This system is designed to improve charging performance in colder climates. The Uncharted can charge from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 28 minutes under optimal conditions using a DC fast charger capable of providing up to 150 kW. An 11-kW onboard charger is included to support Level 2 home charging. The vehicle uses the North American Charging Standard (NACS) connector, which Subaru says provides access to more than 25,000 charging stations across the United States.
Subaru emphasizes that the Uncharted is shorter than the Solterra by nearly seven inches while retaining what it describes as usable cargo space. Cargo capacity behind the second row is listed at more than 25 cubic feet. The turning radius is described as similar to that of the Subaru Crosstrek, which is intended to aid low-speed maneuverability in urban environments. Subaru engineers developed the suspension tuning to provide straight-line stability and traction on surfaces such as gravel, dirt, and snow. The vehicle uses a combination of lightweight, high-strength steel and battery structural reinforcement to enhance rigidity.

Subaru also provides details on the color availability for the 2026 Uncharted. Five exterior colors will be offered: Coastal Wolf Gray Metallic, Habanero Orange Metallic, Cosmic White Pearl, Astro Black Mica, and Metropolis Gray. Four of those colors—Coastal Wolf Gray Metallic, Habanero Orange Metallic, Cosmic White Pearl, and Metropolis Gray—are available with two-tone paint on the GT trim. Premium paint costs $475, and two-tone paint packages cost $970. All Uncharted models are assembled in Japan.
The Uncharted’s safety and driver-assist features include Subaru’s EyeSight system and the distraction mitigation system, which uses camera-based monitoring to identify signs of driver inattention. Additional technologies vary by trim but include systems such as surround-view monitoring, Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Change Assist, and blind-spot monitoring. Subaru continues to integrate these systems on many of its models as part of its broader active safety strategy.
The Uncharted joins Subaru’s growing electrified lineup, which currently includes the Solterra and forthcoming Trailseeker models. Subaru has positioned its EV strategy around incremental expansion rather than rapid portfolio shifts, with the Uncharted serving as an entry point for customers seeking an electric vehicle at a lower price than the Solterra. Because the Premium FWD model will be limited in availability, Subaru expects the Sport and GT all-wheel-drive models to make up most retailer inventory.
Subaru states that its manufacturing and corporate operations continue to follow environmental commitments such as zero-landfill production and corporate giving initiatives under its Subaru Love Promise program. The company reports having donated more than $340 million to charitable causes over the past two decades, with more than 115,000 hours of employee volunteer service during that time. Subaru markets its vehicles and parts through approximately 640 retailers across the United States.
Overall, the Uncharted introduces another electric option for Subaru buyers. Its base model features front-wheel drive and the longest stated range, while its more expensive dual-motor variants provide higher output and all-wheel-drive capability. All trims include the same battery capacity, connectivity features, and charging hardware. Deliveries are scheduled to begin early next year, and pricing spans from $36,445 to $45,245, including destination, before factoring in optional paint charges or state-specific delivery differences.
