Hyundai Motor America has announced that customers in the United States can now purchase new Hyundai vehicles through Amazon Autos. This initiative allows buyers to browse available vehicles, finance their purchase, and schedule a pickup through participating dealerships. The program is currently available in 54 markets nationwide, which together account for 71% of Hyundai’s sales volume. Hyundai is the first automaker to offer this functionality on Amazon’s platform. Additional markets and dealer participation are expected to expand over time.
According to Hyundai, the new service provides a streamlined purchasing process within Amazon’s familiar shopping interface. Customers can explore available models by trim, color, and features, secure financing, and complete the transaction online. Once the purchase is finalized, buyers select a pickup time at the dealership. Pricing is set by the dealers and includes all applicable taxes and fees, eliminating the need for negotiation.
The initiative is supported by a national marketing campaign showcasing the convenience of adding a Hyundai vehicle to an Amazon shopping cart. Advertising will span television, digital, and social media channels, with a focus on the ease and transparency of the process. A mini-campaign, “In the Time it Takes,” will highlight the simplicity of purchasing a Hyundai vehicle on Amazon Autos compared to other everyday tasks.
In addition to providing a seamless buying experience, the service includes trade-in options. Customers can receive a trade-in valuation for their current vehicle through the platform, with the amount applied to their new Hyundai purchase. Trade-ins are finalized at the dealership during vehicle pickup.
The program is part of Hyundai’s broader strategy to enhance the car-buying experience through innovative retail solutions. Hyundai Motor America has noted that leasing and expanded financing options will become available later this year.
