Citroën has opened orders for an updated version of its electric micro-mobility vehicle, the Ami, and introduced a new model, the Ami Buggy. Both were presented at the 2024 Paris Motor Show. Orders will be accepted beginning May 6, 2025, and the first deliveries of the Ami Buggy are expected in August.

The updated Ami maintains the same dimensions as previous versions, measuring approximately 7.9 feet (2.41 meters) in length, with a turning radius of 23.6 feet (7.2 meters). Design changes include modified front and rear fascias, raised headlamps, a new brand logo, and a more angular lower body with added bumper elements. These revisions are mirrored at the rear to maintain symmetrical design. Several components, including doors and panels, use shared molds to help reduce manufacturing costs.

The vehicle offers an electric driving range of approximately 47 miles (75 kilometers) and can be charged in about four hours from a standard 220V household outlet. The maximum speed is 28 miles per hour (45 kilometers per hour). In certain markets, it can be driven from the age of 14 without a driver’s license. Citroën has introduced a new Night Sepia color option, along with three additional customization packages—Spicy (red), Icy (white), and Minty (green). These packages include cosmetic features such as wheel trim designs and decals, as well as accessories like floor mats, storage boxes, and a smartphone connectivity interface.

The Ami Buggy, which was previously available only as a limited edition, has now been added to the standard range. It is designed for recreational use and features an open design with no doors or roof. Metal hoops replace the door panels, and zipped covers can be added to shield occupants from the weather. A removable soft top is also included. The vehicle includes additional styling elements such as a rear spoiler, 14-inch steel wheels with a gold finish, and a yellow-accented Citroën logo. A variant called Ami Buggy Palmeira includes further accessories and a decorative dashboard figurine.

Citroën has also expanded the Ami platform to include two new configurations: Ami Cargo and Ami for All. The Ami Cargo includes a modular storage kit that converts the passenger area into a load space, offering up to 12 cubic feet (340 liters) of cargo volume. The Ami for All model, developed with PIMAS, is adapted for people with reduced mobility. Modifications include a wider door opening angle, assistive transfer equipment, removable wheelchair storage solutions, and optional manual driving controls with pedal overrides.

The Ami has been sold in 18 markets and has reached 75,000 units. It is promoted as a low-cost alternative to two-wheeled electric mobility and public transit. In Europe, the base Ami model is priced from €7,990, which is approximately $8,540 USD. The version with a color pack is €8,390 (around $8,970 USD). The Ami Buggy starts at €9,590 (about $10,250 USD), and the Ami Buggy Palmeira is priced at €9,990 (approximately $10,680 USD). All pricing is based on April 2025 exchange rates.
