Zero 60, a national electric vehicle charge point operator, has opened its first fast-charging station in the Midwest. The site is located at 620 W. Kemp St. in Rhinelander, Wisconsin, at a Culver’s restaurant. The station began operating on September 25.
The Rhinelander location includes four high-speed charging ports, each capable of delivering up to 160 kilowatts. The station is equipped with Omni Port Technology, which detects the type of electric vehicle and enables the correct connection automatically.
According to Wade Leipold, executive vice president of FTI, Rhinelander was selected due to its role as a regional destination and its community environment. He stated that the station supports local businesses while contributing to a broader charging network.
The launch event on September 25 included a live charging demonstration, food and beverage specials, and educational sessions on electric vehicles and renewable energy. Representatives from Zero 60 and other site partners provided remarks. Culver’s mascot, Scoopie, also made an appearance.
To mark the opening, a temporary promotion is available at the Rhinelander station. Through January 5, 2026, customers can access a rate of $0.41 per kilowatt-hour by activating the offer in the ChargePoint app under “Connections” and using the code “BUTTERBURGER.” The promotion aligns with Culver’s 41st anniversary.
The Rhinelander station is the only fast-charging location in the area and is situated along a state-designated Alternative Fuel Corridor. The project received funding from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation through the Wisconsin Electric Vehicle Infrastructure program.
