Dodge has unveiled a new feature for the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona models: the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust system. This patent-pending system is designed to create a distinctive sound profile typically associated with muscle cars, setting it apart from conventional electric vehicles. The system uses dual transducers and passive radiators within a custom enclosure, powered by a dedicated amplifier, to produce a deep rumble characteristic of Dodge’s performance vehicles.
The Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust system adapts to inputs such as accelerator pedal position, speed, and torque output, generating unique exhaust tones. These sounds provide feedback to the driver, particularly during high-performance activities like track driving. The exhaust sound intensity varies with the vehicle’s performance modes; Sport Mode offers moderate output, while modes like Drag, Drift, Donut, and Track provide a louder experience. There is also a Stealth Mode for a quieter ride.
The Fratzonic system is located within the lower rear fascia of the Charger Daytona and features a Fratzonic logo. It dynamically responds to acceleration, deceleration, and throttle inputs.
In addition to this new feature, Dodge is launching a 20-part video series titled “Built Upon a Legacy” on its official YouTube channel. The series will highlight various aspects of the new Charger Daytona, including its design and technologies. The first episode covers the vehicle’s exterior design and interior features, with future episodes exploring the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust, widebody styling, and performance capabilities.
Production of the two-door versions of the Charger Daytona R/T and Charger Daytona Scat Pack is set to begin in the summer of 2024, while production for the four-door models is expected to start in early 2025. The Charger lineup will also include gas-powered variants, such as the Dodge Charger SIXPACK H.O. and SIXPACK S.O., scheduled for production in the latter half of 2025.
