The Jeep brand has announced its participation in the 58th annual Easter Jeep Safari, scheduled to take place from March 23 to 31, 2024, in Moab, Utah. At this event, Jeep will unveil four new concept vehicles that feature distinctive designs combined with functional capabilities. The Easter Jeep Safari is a prominent event for Jeep enthusiasts, attracting over 20,000 attendees each year and celebrating the brand’s legacy and innovation in the 4×4 segment. Bill Peffer, senior vice president and head of Jeep brand North America, described the event as an optimal venue for introducing new Jeep concepts that highlight advancements in electrification and performance.
One of the concepts being introduced is the Jeep Willys Dispatcher, a modern interpretation of the post-war civilian Jeeps. Based on the Wrangler 4xe, this concept blends classic design elements with contemporary off-road technology. The exterior of the Willys Dispatcher features a vintage aesthetic, including 36-inch Super Traxion tires on 16-by-7-inch alloy wheels that mimic traditional steel wheels. It is also equipped with a custom front bumper with a new 8274 Warn winch and additional classic accents. The vehicle’s custom paint, Element 115 Green, is complemented by cream-colored wheels, enhancing its retro look.
Inside, the Willys Dispatcher boasts custom distressed saddle leather and houndstooth cloth inserts, reflecting the vintage style of early Jeeps. Practical features such as a JPP bikini top and rugged vinyl floor covering ensure durability and comfort in various weather conditions. The vehicle also includes a JPP onboard air compressor, which is useful for adjusting tire pressures during off-road excursions.
The Willys Dispatcher is powered by a 2.0-liter plug-in hybrid 4xe propulsion system, producing 375 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque. This powertrain is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission and Dana 50 Advantech front and rear axles, providing performance that matches its robust appearance.
