Electrify America extends charging benefit to include Porsche Macan Electric

Electrify America and Porsche Cars North America have extended their existing charging agreement to include the newly introduced Macan Electric. This arrangement will provide Macan Electric owners with one year of complimentary 30-minute charging sessions at Electrify America’s charging stations across the country.

The Macan Electric is the latest addition to Porsche’s lineup and features an 800-volt architecture capable of achieving a charging speed of up to 270 kilowatts (kW) under optimal conditions. This positions it among the fastest charging vehicles currently available.

According to Robert Barrosa, president and CEO of Electrify America, the company’s Hyper-Fast charging network, which offers charging speeds of up to 350 kW, is compatible with the Macan Electric. The vehicle also features the Plug&Charge capability, allowing drivers to initiate charging simply by connecting to the charger without needing additional steps. Alternatively, users can start the charging process using the My Porsche app.

Owners of the Macan Electric will have a one-year period from the date of purchase to utilize the complimentary 30-minute charging sessions. Activation of this charging benefit requires enrollment during the Porsche Charging Service process. The My Porsche app, as well as the vehicle’s in-car navigation system, can be used to find charging stations, check their availability, and navigate to the nearest location.

Timo Resch, President and CEO of Porsche Cars North America, noted that the extension of this collaboration with Electrify America is intended to enhance the convenience of charging for Macan Electric owners and is in line with the company’s efforts to support the growth of electric vehicle adoption in the United States.
