The Ford E-Transit, the all-electric version of Ford’s popular Transit van, offers an estimated range of up to 126 miles on a full charge. This range is tailored to meet the needs of urban and short-haul commercial operations, where the majority of driving occurs within city limits and on well-defined routes.

The E-Transit’s 67 kWh battery powers a single electric motor that delivers 266 horsepower and 317 lb-ft of torque. While the 126-mile range may seem modest compared to some passenger electric vehicles, it is designed to be more than sufficient for the daily needs of many businesses. Ford’s research indicates that the average commercial van in the U.S. covers around 74 miles per day, meaning the E-Transit’s range should comfortably cover the demands of most urban delivery routes, service calls, and other local tasks.

In addition to its range, the E-Transit supports both AC and DC fast charging, allowing for flexibility in how the vehicle is recharged. Using a DC fast charger, the E-Transit can regain up to 45 miles of range in just 15 minutes, which is particularly useful for fleet operations that require minimal downtime.

Ford’s decision to focus on a range suitable for city driving is a strategic one, as the E-Transit is aimed at businesses looking to transition to electric vehicles without compromising on efficiency or practicality. The E-Transit’s range, combined with its cargo capacity and familiar Transit platform, makes it an attractive option for companies seeking a reliable and sustainable solution for their transportation needs.

Overall, the Ford E-Transit’s 126-mile range is well-suited for its intended applications, offering a balance between performance, practicality, and sustainability that aligns with the demands of modern urban logistics.
