Genesis Motor North America revealed the X Gran Equator Concept last night during a private event at Genesis House in New York City. The unveiling took place ahead of the 2025 New York International Auto Show, where the concept will be publicly displayed beginning April 18.
The X Gran Equator is the brand’s first concept vehicle intended for adventure and overlanding, integrating elements of off-road design with Genesis’ existing “Athletic Elegance” design philosophy. The exterior design features a long hood, fastback-style C-pillar, and minimal surface detailing. The vehicle also includes large wheel arch cladding, 24-inch beadlock-style wheels, and a split-opening tailgate. Geometric auxiliary lighting is used alongside the brand’s signature Two-Line headlamps. While Genesis has not confirmed the vehicle’s powertrain, the absence of a visible tailpipe raises the possibility that it may be electric.
The interior design of the concept combines analog and digital elements. A four-circle digital display is mounted at the center stack, referencing the design of vintage camera dials. The cabin incorporates geometric themes, with modular storage solutions and swiveling front seats. The dashboard is free of decorative elements, emphasizing functionality and linear design.
The name “X Gran Equator” is inspired by Equator, an Arabian stallion known for endurance and strength. Genesis states that the name reflects the concept’s aim to balance performance and elegance in a design suited to remote travel.
The X Gran Equator is not confirmed for production but indicates Genesis’ ongoing interest in expanding into lifestyle and exploration-oriented segments. After its appearance at the New York International Auto Show, the vehicle will remain on display at Genesis House through the end of July.
