Owners of the Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX electric vehicles can now access Tesla Superchargers across the United States through the use of a newly available NACS-CCS DC fast-charging adapter. The adapter, which has been tested and approved by Honda for compatibility and performance, enables charging at more than 23,500 selected Tesla Supercharger locations.
The adapter is available for purchase through authorized Honda and Acura dealerships, as well as online via the Honda DreamShop. The manufacturer’s suggested retail price is $225. Honda has specified that only the approved adapter should be used for charging at Tesla Superchargers, as using an unapproved product may result in vehicle damage that may not be covered under warranty.
At launch, initiating charging at a Tesla Supercharger requires the Tesla mobile app. Support for charging integration within the HondaLink and Acura EV apps, as well as plug and charge capability, is under development. Honda and Acura EVs with Google built-in can use the system’s Maps feature to locate compatible Supercharger sites.
This adapter rollout is part of Honda’s broader charging initiative. By 2030, the company expects to provide Honda and Acura EV owners access to approximately 100,000 DC fast-charging locations across North America. This will include the Ionna charging network, Tesla Superchargers, EVgo, and other public charging options.
