Honda Prologue and Acura ZDX owners will be able to access more than 20,000 selected Tesla Superchargers across the United States beginning in June 2025. This expansion will be made possible through the introduction of a Honda-approved NACS-CCS DC fast-charging adapter. The adapter has been tested for safety, performance, and compatibility with the Prologue and ZDX models and is the only DC fast-charging adapter approved by Honda for these vehicles.
According to American Honda Motor Co., Inc., the addition of Tesla Superchargers will supplement the existing charging networks available to Honda and Acura EV customers. Ryan Harty, assistant vice president of Sustainability & Business Development, stated that by the end of the decade, the company aims to provide access to over 100,000 charging points nationwide to improve convenience for EV drivers.
The Honda-approved adapter will be available for purchase at authorized Honda and Acura dealerships in the United States starting in June 2025. Pricing details will be announced closer to its release. Owners of the Prologue and ZDX will receive notifications through the HondaLink and Acura EV apps when the adapters become available. The apps will also provide information on locating authorized Tesla Supercharger stations.
Honda recommends the use of its approved adapter to ensure safe and reliable charging. Tesla requires specific adapters for use at its Supercharger stations, and Honda has warned that damage resulting from the use of unapproved adapters may not be covered under the vehicles’ limited warranties.
