Honda Motor Co., Ltd. has revealed the prototype of the Honda 0 α (alpha), a next-generation electric SUV, at the Japan Mobility Show 2025 in Tokyo. The prototype will be displayed at the Honda booth during the event, which runs from October 29–30 for the press and from October 31 to November 9 for the public.

The Honda 0 α is designed as an SUV intended to blend into both urban and natural environments. It follows the Honda 0 Saloon and Honda 0 SUV, which were first introduced at CES 2025 earlier in the year. Honda refers to the 0 α as a “gateway model” in its 0 Series lineup, emphasizing a refined design and a spacious interior focused on passenger comfort.

The company says the model embodies the “Thin, Light, and Wise” philosophy guiding the development of the Honda 0 Series. The production version of the Honda 0 α is planned for global release in 2027, with initial availability expected in Japan and India.

Honda’s packaging approach prioritizes a low vehicle height without reducing ground clearance, creating what it describes as a “thin cabin” that remains comfortable for occupants. The SUV’s wide stance is intended to convey stability and dynamic performance.

The exterior design continues the visual language of the Honda 0 Series, combining sleek lines with SUV proportions. Both the front and rear incorporate integrated “screen areas.” At the front, the headlights, charging lid, and illuminated emblem are combined into a single display section. The rear features U-shaped lighting that merges the tail lamps, backup lamps, and turn signals, outlining the rear screen area to provide both visual definition and functional integration.

Honda has not yet announced detailed technical specifications, battery information, or performance data for the prototype. The company describes the Honda 0 α as a model that will support everyday life in various environments while representing the next phase of its electric vehicle development.
