Honda has received multiple honors in the 2025 Red Dot Design Award competition. The Fastport eQuad, an all-electric micromobility vehicle developed for last-mile delivery, was awarded the “Red Dot: Best of the Best” award in the Design Concept category. Two other Honda concept vehicles, the EV Fun Concept and the EV Urban Concept, were also named winners in the same category. Additionally, Honda’s concept movie “New V3 Engine Concept Teaser” was recognized in the Brand & Communication Design competition.
The Fastport eQuad is a single-rider vehicle that uses a pedal-by-wire system and pedal-assist powertrain to supplement the rider’s pedaling with electric assistance. It is designed for operation in bicycle lanes in the U.S. and Europe and aims to provide improved urban delivery efficiency. The vehicle incorporates transparent materials and a clear windshield to improve visibility for both the rider and others nearby. Mass production is scheduled to begin in the summer of 2026 at a Honda facility in the United States.

The EV Fun Concept is Honda’s first electric sports motorcycle concept. It features a slim chassis enabled by a fixed battery and emphasizes a quiet and vibration-free ride. It is designed to provide a different riding experience from internal combustion engine motorcycles. A production version is scheduled to launch by the end of the 2025 fiscal year, ending March 31, 2026.

The EV Urban Concept presents a design for future urban electric mobility. It features minimalist styling and an integrated human-machine interface, aligning with Honda’s design direction known as “Precision of Intrinsic Design.” The concept emphasizes software-hardware integration and aims to provide enhanced user experience in urban environments.
Honda is also developing a V3 motorcycle engine with an electrical compressor. According to the company, this is the first engine of its kind. The compressor is designed to deliver torque at lower rpm and allows for flexible component layout due to the elimination of an intercooler. These developments were featured in a concept film titled “New V3 Engine Concept Teaser,” which showcases the engineering process and includes footage of Honda engineers working on the project.
The Red Dot Award is organized by Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Essen, Germany, and has been held since 1955. Products are judged across various criteria including innovation, functionality, and ergonomics.
