Honda has introduced a new electric vehicle (EV) series for the Chinese market, named the 烨 (yè) Series, or Ye Series. This series includes the Ye P7 and Ye S7 models, and a concept vehicle, the Ye GT CONCEPT. This launch is part of Honda’s strategy to enhance its EV presence in China, which is experiencing significant growth in electric vehicle adoption.
The Ye P7 and Ye S7 are built on a newly developed EV platform, offering options for either a one-motor rear-wheel drive or a two-motor four-wheel drive configuration. These models aim to deliver a balanced driving experience, combining sporty handling with powerful, responsive control. They also feature advanced interior designs with interactive LED light emissions that respond to AI-assisted functions, reflecting a modern and intelligent cabin environment.
The Ye GT CONCEPT showcases Honda’s future direction for its EVs in China, incorporating design elements reminiscent of Grand Tourer racing styles. It includes innovative features, such as a far-focus display designed to simulate a private theater for a unique passenger experience.
Honda plans to launch a total of six Ye Series models in China by 2027 as part of its broader strategy to achieve carbon neutrality by 2050. The company aims to have EVs account for 100% of its automobile sales in China by 2035. The Ye P7 and Ye S7 are expected to be available for purchase by the end of 2024, with production models based on the Ye GT CONCEPT anticipated to enter the market before the end of 2025.
