Hyundai Motor Company released teaser images for a new concept car named Insteroid, described by the company as a sporty, gaming-inspired electric vehicle (EV). This concept is based on Hyundai’s Inster sub-compact EV, which was introduced in June 2024 and has seen strong sales in markets, including Europe and Korea.
The Insteroid concept integrates elements reminiscent of video game aesthetics into its design. Notable features include wheel arch air vents, large 21-inch wheels, and a distinct rear spoiler and diffuser. Additionally, signature Pixel LEDs are included as part of the vehicle’s visual identity.
According to Hyundai, the Insteroid concept aims to enhance the emotional experience associated with electric vehicles, incorporating unique details across its design, such as specialized control buttons and instrument clusters. Hyundai describes the concept as merging digital game-inspired visual elements with automotive engineering.
The full unveiling of the Insteroid concept is scheduled for early April 2025.
