Jaguar has introduced the Type 00 concept vehicle as part of its transformation into an electric-only luxury brand. This unveiling occurred during Miami Art Week, highlighting the brand’s new creative direction under the philosophy of “Exuberant Modernism.” The Type 00 serves as a representation of Jaguar’s intention to recapture its original ethos of innovation, encapsulated by the motto “Copy Nothing.”

The Type 00 concept features a distinctive design, departing from traditional electric vehicle norms. Its exterior design includes a long bonnet, fastback profile, and sweeping roofline, complemented by 23-inch alloy wheels. The vehicle’s silhouette emphasizes dramatic proportions and minimalist surfaces. Its debut models were presented in two distinct color schemes: Miami Pink, inspired by Art Deco architecture, and London Blue, reflecting Jaguar’s British heritage.

The concept is built on Jaguar’s new Electric Architecture (JEA), which will also underpin future production models. Jaguar’s first production vehicle from this new phase, a four-door electric GT, is scheduled for a 2025 release. It is expected to achieve a range of up to 770 kilometers (WLTP) or 430 miles (EPA) and will support rapid charging, adding up to 321 kilometers (200 miles) of range in 15 minutes.

Inside, the Type 00 features a modernist interior with butterfly doors and a ‘pantograph’ tailgate. The cabin includes hand-finished materials such as brass, travertine stone, and woven textiles. Technological elements include deployable screens and a Clearsight digital rear-view display, designed to integrate seamlessly into the vehicle’s architecture.

The brand’s transformation extends to its identity, with new visual symbols and design elements emphasizing modernity. These include a redesigned Jaguar monogram and a focus on bold linear graphics. Jaguar plans to further engage its clients with immersive retail spaces, starting with a flagship store in Paris.

The unveiling of the Type 00 at Miami Art Week underscores Jaguar’s commitment to blending automotive design with art and creativity. Through curated gallery spaces and installations, the event showcased Jaguar’s vision for the future, emphasizing its intention to create vehicles that are both innovative and visually striking.
