Jeep has reached a production milestone with the completion of the 250,000th Wrangler 4xe at the Toledo Assembly Complex in Ohio. The vehicle, a 2025 Wrangler 4xe Willys finished in Black Clear Coat, is equipped with a three-piece Freedom Top, cloth seats, and mud-terrain tires. It is scheduled for delivery to a customer in California.
The Wrangler 4xe is currently the top-selling plug-in hybrid electric vehicle in the United States. It combines a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine, two electric motors, and a high-voltage battery pack. The vehicle achieves an estimated 49 MPGe and can operate on electric power alone for up to 21 miles.
Production of the Wrangler 4xe began in December 2020 and continues alongside gasoline-powered Wrangler models at the same facility. The Toledo Assembly Complex has produced the Wrangler line for over 80 years, and all Wrangler models are built there for both domestic and international markets.
Jeep also recently marked the production of the 100,000th Grand Cherokee 4xe. That model is assembled at the Detroit Assembly Complex, with production beginning in August 2022. It is currently the third best-selling plug-in hybrid electric vehicle in the U.S.
