Kia has introduced the Kia EV3, a new compact electric SUV that combines advanced technology with innovative design. The EV3 is positioned to redefine the compact EV SUV category by incorporating design elements from Kia’s flagship EV9 SUV.
The exterior of the EV3 features a bold and progressive design, reflecting Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ philosophy, which merges natural and modern aesthetics. This design includes vertical headlamps, a sleek roofline, and a dynamic silhouette. The vehicle is available in nine colors, including two exclusive options: Aventurine Green and Terracotta.
The EV3 offers a driving range of up to 600 kilometers and supports fast charging from 10 to 80 percent in approximately 31 minutes. The interior is designed for practicality and comfort, accommodating five passengers with a focus on functionality. It features a 25-liter frunk, a 460-liter rear load capacity, and a near-30-inch widescreen display on the dashboard. The center console includes a sliding table and storage area.
The EV3 is built on Kia’s Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP) and comes in two models: the Standard with a 58.3 kWh battery and the Long Range with an 81.4 kWh battery. Both models are equipped with a 150 kW electric motor, providing a 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 7.5 seconds and a top speed of 170 km/h.
Advanced safety and convenience features include Advanced Driving Assistance Systems (ADAS) such as Electric Dynamic Torque Vectoring Control, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, and Highway Driving Assist. Additionally, the EV3 introduces Kia’s i-Pedal 3.0 regenerative braking technology and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) charging.
The EV3 is set to launch in Korea in July 2024, with a subsequent release in Europe later in the year. Kia plans to expand the availability of the EV3 to other regions in the future.
