Kia Corporation has introduced the EV4 and Concept EV2 at the 2025 Kia EV Day in Tarragona, Spain. These models expand the company’s lineup and aim to support the wider adoption of electric mobility.
The Kia EV4 is available in both sedan and hatchback body styles. Designed to cater to various driving needs, the model is intended for urban and long-distance travel. It is positioned as Kia’s first electrified sedan and hatchback in the C-segment. The vehicle follows a design philosophy that integrates both practicality and technology.
The Concept EV2 is a B-segment electric SUV that previews a future production model. The vehicle is designed for urban mobility, incorporating new technology and interior flexibility. It aims to provide users with an adaptable and efficient driving experience.
The Kia EV4 is built on the company’s 400V Electric Global Modular Platform (E-GMP). It is offered with two battery options: a standard 58.3 kWh battery and an 81.4 kWh long-range version. The long-range model has a projected range of 630 km under WLTP standards. The vehicle features a 150 kW front-mounted motor, achieving 0-100 km/h in 7.4 seconds. Charging from 10-80% can be completed in approximately 31 minutes. Aerodynamic enhancements, including full underbody covers, contribute to a drag coefficient of 0.23 Cd. The EV4 also includes Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) and Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) functionality.
The EV4 is equipped with various connectivity and convenience features. It includes a Digital Key 2.0 system for keyless entry and vehicle control via a smartphone or smartwatch. The vehicle features a 30-inch wide-screen connected cockpit, integrating a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 5.3-inch climate control panel, and a 12.3-inch infotainment display. The system supports over-the-air updates and offers streaming services such as YouTube and Netflix. Additional interior features include a sliding table console, multiple storage compartments, and an available Harman/Kardon audio system.
Safety features in the EV4 include Kia’s Highway Driving Assist 2 (HDA2) and an advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) package. These include Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Lane Keeping Assist, Blind-Spot Collision-Avoidance Assist, and Intelligent Speed Limit Assist. The vehicle’s structural design incorporates reinforced components for impact protection, and Kia is targeting high safety ratings from both Euro NCAP and U.S. NCAP.
The EV4 adopts Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ design philosophy, integrating modern exterior elements such as a low nose, long-tail silhouette, and vertical headlamps. The interior focuses on functionality, with an asymmetrical steering wheel and minimalist dashboard layout. The GT-Line variant includes sportier design elements, such as wing-shaped bumpers and 19-inch wheels.
Production of the Kia EV4 sedan will take place at the Autoland Gwangmyeong EVO Plant in Korea, while the hatchback version will be produced in Slovakia. The sedan is set for a market launch in Korea in March, with European and North American availability following later in the year.
Alongside the EV4, Kia introduced the Concept EV2. This B-segment electric SUV is designed for urban environments, incorporating a compact yet functional design. It features a clean exterior with vertical daytime running lights and a wide stance. The interior uses sustainable materials and includes foldable seating for expanded space. Rear-hinged doors provide easier access, and the infotainment system includes unique elements such as message lighting and portable speakers. Kia expects a production version of the EV2 to launch in 2026.
