Kia America will participate in Work Truck Week at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis on March 6-7, 2024. At the event, Kia will present concept models of its Platform Beyond Vehicles (PBVs), specifically the PV5 and PV7. This presentation is part of Kia’s Plan S strategy, which focuses on becoming a leader in sustainable mobility through electrification.
Steven Center, COO & EVP of Kia America, highlighted the company’s commitment to expanding its presence in this sector, aligning with its sustainability and electrification objectives. The PV5 is Kia’s first PBV concept, designed as an electric vehicle (EV) for the rideshare market. This model is enhanced with connectivity features and software-defined fleet management, intended for efficient delivery services. The PV5 was previously showcased at CES in various configurations, including Basic, High Roof, Robotaxi, and Pickup, with a potential market launch in the U.S. anticipated in 2026.
The PV7, the larger PBV concept, offers more interior space, a longer all-electric driving range, and improved functionality. Alongside these vehicle concepts, Kia is developing advanced fleet management solutions. These solutions are designed to provide real-time insights into logistics, including sales, inventory, and delivery schedules. Features may include inventory monitoring, temperature control, and intelligent route planning. The integration of real-time data and artificial intelligence is expected to support predictive maintenance and enhance overall fleet efficiency.
