Mazda has released official images and video of its new EZ-60 crossover. The vehicle is built on the EPA1 modular architecture developed by Changan, and it shares core specifications with the Deepal S07 crossover produced by the same company. This is consistent with Mazda’s ongoing partnership with Changan, which began with a joint venture established in 2012. The Changan Mazda factory in Nanjing currently manufactures several models, including the Mazda CX-30, CX-5, CX-50, Mazda 3, and the recently introduced EZ-6 sedan. The EZ-60 will be added to this production lineup and is expected to be introduced to global markets under the name Mazda CX-6e.

The EZ-60 will debut at the Shanghai Auto Show on April 23. The model adopts the Kodo design language seen in the EZ-6 sedan. Exterior features include a streamlined body, illuminated Mazda logo, split headlights, LED running lights, hidden door handles, and a smooth roofline. It also incorporates cameras in place of traditional side mirrors. The rear of the vehicle displays the Mazda brand name and two elongated taillight units, though the presence of an exposed rear wiper affects the vehicle’s minimalistic design.

The EZ-60 is built on the same platform as several other models, including the Deepal L07, Deepal S07, and Mazda EZ-6. The EPA1 architecture, developed over five years, is compatible with battery electric (BEV), extended-range electric (EREV), and fuel cell electric (FCEV) powertrains. Based on visual comparisons, the EZ-60 appears similar in size to the Deepal S07, which measures 4,750 mm in length, 1,930 mm in width, and 1,625 mm in height, with a 2,900 mm wheelbase.

The EZ-60 is expected to use the same powertrains as the Deepal S07. The all-electric Deepal S07 has a rear-mounted single electric motor available in two power outputs: 160 kW and 190 kW. Battery options include a 68.8 kWh lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery with a 520 km range and an 80 kWh ternary nickel manganese cobalt (NMC) battery offering up to 628 km. An extended-range version of the Deepal S07, also rear-wheel drive, includes an electric motor with output between 175 kW and 190 kW, and a 1.5-liter naturally aspirated gasoline engine rated at 72 kW, used solely for generating electricity. This variant offers two LFP battery choices of 31.7 kWh and 39 kWh, with electric-only ranges of 215–285 km and combined ranges between 1,210 km and 1,280 km.

Mazda has not disclosed pricing information for the EZ-60. It is anticipated to be priced higher than the Deepal S07, which currently sells for between 149,900 yuan and 197,900 yuan ($20,400 to $26,930 USD). The Mazda EZ-6 sedan, which shares the platform with the EZ-60, recorded 4,329 units sold in China between November 2024 and February 2025. The EZ-60 is expected to face similar market conditions in China’s competitive new energy vehicle segment.
