Mazda Motor Corporation has announced that it will adopt Tesla’s North American Charging Standard (NACS) for battery electric vehicles (BEVs) launched in Japan starting in 2027. The company stated that this decision was made to increase convenience for customers by expanding available charging options.
With the adoption of NACS, Mazda’s BEVs will be able to use Tesla Superchargers located throughout Japan. In addition to NACS compatibility, Mazda vehicles will support other charging standards through the use of adapters.
The company reiterated its focus on human-centered vehicle development and stated it will continue to promote its brand philosophy through future vehicle offerings.
