Mercedes-Benz has revealed the all-new CLA Shooting Brake with EQ Technology, which will be the brand’s first electric estate car. Set to launch in European markets in March 2026, the model is based on the new Mercedes-Benz Modular Architecture (MMA) and offers a combination of electric drive, increased interior space, and modern digital technology.

The CLA Shooting Brake joins the recently introduced CLA sedan and retains its design up to the B-pillar. Beyond that point, the estate version features an extended roofline, a panoramic glass roof, and a revised rear end with an integrated spoiler. The illuminated star-studded front panel and LED light strips carry over, while a newly designed rear includes star-shaped taillights.

Two initial models will be offered: the CLA 250+ Shooting Brake with a single electric motor and the CLA 350 4MATIC Shooting Brake with dual motors and all-wheel drive. Both models feature an 85 kWh lithium-ion battery with a silicon-enhanced anode. The estimated range for the CLA 250+ is up to 761 km (WLTP), while the CLA 350 4MATIC offers up to 730 km. Maximum DC charging power is rated at 320 kW, enabling up to 310 km of range to be added in approximately 10 minutes. AC charging is supported up to 22 kW.

The CLA 250+ produces 200 kW and 335 Nm of torque, with a 0-100 km/h time of 6.8 seconds. The CLA 350 4MATIC delivers 260 kW and 515 Nm, accelerating to 100 km/h in 5.0 seconds. The top speed for both is limited to 210 km/h. The new two-speed transmission is designed to optimize efficiency and performance.

The interior space increases compared to the previous CLA Shooting Brake. The new model is 35 mm longer and 27 mm taller, which contributes to increased headroom and legroom. Boot space is rated at 455 litres, expanding to 1,290 litres with the rear seats folded. An additional 101-litre storage compartment is located under the bonnet. The model supports a roof load of up to 75 kg and a braked towing capacity of 1,500 kg for rear-wheel drive or 1,800 kg for all-wheel-drive variants.

Inside, the CLA Shooting Brake adopts the same cabin design as the CLA sedan. This includes the MBUX Superscreen, which spans the dashboard and can include up to three displays. The central and passenger screens each measure 14 inches, while the instrument cluster measures 10.25 inches. The passenger display is optional and can be used for streaming or gaming via a Bluetooth controller. The head-up display is also available as an option.

The vehicle runs on the Mercedes-Benz Operating System (MB.OS) and includes cloud connectivity for over-the-air updates. It incorporates digital services such as voice commands powered by AI, real-time navigation using Google Maps, and smart route planning with battery preconditioning for charging stops.

A hybrid version with a 48-volt system and integrated electric motor will be introduced in early 2026. This model will support limited electric-only operation and regenerative braking in all gears.

Standard features on the CLA Shooting Brake include LED headlights, ARTICO upholstery, heated front seats, ambient lighting, digital climate control, MBUX Navigation, and a power-operated tailgate. Optional features and trims include the AMG Line packages and various personalization options.

The vehicle is built on the MMA platform, which supports both electric and hybrid powertrains. Following the CLA and CLA Shooting Brake, two SUV models on the same platform are expected.
