Mercedes-Benz has announced an updated design language that will debut on the all-new electric GLC. This new approach will be formally presented during the vehicle’s world premiere at IAA Mobility in Munich on September 7, 2025. The electric GLC will be the first production model to feature this revised design language, which incorporates new styling elements both externally and within the cabin.

One of the main visual updates is the redesigned front grille. This element, long a hallmark of the brand’s vehicles, has been reinterpreted with a wide chrome frame, a smoked-glass-effect lattice structure, and integrated contour lighting. An illuminated version of the grille will be available as an option and will include 942 backlit, potentially animated, lighting elements. The Mercedes-Benz star at the center and its surrounding panel will also feature illumination.

The grille’s updated design marks a shift from its traditional functional role in internal combustion vehicles to a more stylized element intended to represent the brand in its electric era. According to the company, this change is part of the evolution of its “Sensual Purity” design philosophy, which aims to combine clean lines with technological enhancements.

The new GLC with EQ Technology is also the first model to incorporate the company’s new software architecture, MB.OS. Mercedes-Benz indicates that this platform will be used in future models across its lineup. The vehicle is positioned as a continuation of the GLC’s legacy, which the company describes as its best-selling model series globally.

Interior updates include an optional MBUX Hyperscreen display system, which spans the width of the dashboard. Mercedes-Benz describes the interior design as aiming to promote a sense of comfort and familiarity.

The all-new electric GLC represents Mercedes-Benz’s effort to merge its historic brand elements with its future-facing electric vehicle strategy.
