The Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV represents the brand’s first all-electric model, built upon the foundation of the Mercedes-EQ EQS SUV but with significant upgrades. This luxury SUV features premium interior materials, advanced technology, and distinctive Maybach wheels.
The EQS SUV is equipped with an electric powertrain producing 649 horsepower and 700 lb-ft of torque, offering high performance while operating silently. Daniel Lescow, Head of Mercedes-Maybach, Mercedes-Benz Group AG, described the vehicle as a significant milestone, representing a redefinition of automotive excellence in the electric era.
The Maybach EQS SUV continues to use leather, though it is processed differently. The Nappa leather is vegetable-tanned using coffee bean shells as tanning agents, and Maybach enforces strict sustainability criteria for its leather suppliers to prevent illegal deforestation and environmental damage.
The vehicle includes a Burmester 4D sound system with Dolby Atmos support and features a custom interior sound, named “Ariel Grace,” which adjusts based on driving mode, speed, and other factors. Pricing details for the Maybach EQS 680 SUV have not been released, but the vehicle is expected to have a range of 600 km (WLTP) and comes standard with all-wheel drive. Further information on pricing will be provided once available.
