Dodge has announced that the all-new Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack will participate in the Tire Rack One Lap of America endurance racing event, which will take place from May 3 through May 10. The race will span more than 3,500 miles across eight states, with multiple timed track events scheduled at various racetracks.
The Charger Daytona Scat Pack will compete in the Alternative Fuel class. The vehicle, equipped with a 670-horsepower electric powertrain, will be piloted by David Carr, a Dodge vehicle dynamics engineer and veteran racer. He will be joined by Sean Yoder, a contributor for Dodge Garage. Carr and Yoder will drive the car between race venues and make pit stops for charging as needed throughout the week.
The vehicle entered in the competition is a stock Charger Daytona Scat Pack, with the exception of an added roll bar. It features a set of 16-inch Brembo vented rotors with red six-piston front and four-piston rear calipers, a mechanical limited-slip differential, continuously variable dampers, and a rear spoiler for aerodynamic stability. The vehicle also includes Dodge’s Track Package, which incorporates selectable drive modes—Track, Drag, and Custom—as well as Launch Control, Drift/Donut Mode, and a Drive Experience Recorder (DxR). The car will also demonstrate Dodge’s energy management features designed for both drag and track racing, including battery thermal management.
The One Lap of America schedule begins and ends in South Bend, Indiana, and includes events at venues such as Gateway Motorsports Park in Illinois, NCM Motorsports Park in Kentucky, Virginia International Raceway, and others. Dodge has stated that the event will test both the Charger’s on-road endurance and on-track performance capabilities.
The participating Charger Daytona Scat Pack will be wrapped in a black-and-orange design featuring “Daytona” text and a large orange Fratzog logo, which represents the brand’s new generation of electric vehicles.
