Dodge has introduced the all-new Dodge Charger, claiming the title of the world’s first electric muscle car. This launch marks Dodge’s entry into the electric vehicle (EV) market and reflects the brand’s dedication to merging innovation with performance in a sustainability-focused automotive landscape. The 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack stands out with its 670 horsepower, accelerating from 0 to 60 mph in 3.3 seconds and completing a quarter-mile in approximately 11.5 seconds. The lineup also includes the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona R/T, which offers 496 horsepower.

The electric Chargers aim to set a new standard for muscle cars by maintaining the performance characteristics associated with the Charger while integrating advanced EV technology. Both models come with standard all-wheel drive, which enhances performance across various driving conditions.

A notable feature of the electric Dodge Charger is the Fratzonic Chambered Exhaust, a system that produces a sound profile similar to traditional muscle cars, addressing the typically quiet operation of electric vehicles. This innovation reflects Dodge’s effort to preserve the muscle car experience in an electric context.

The Chargers are powered by a 400V propulsion system, which includes high-voltage battery packs, dual integrated charge modules, and electric drive modules (EDMs) at both the front and rear. The front EDM contributes to improved range and efficiency through a wheel end disconnect feature, while the rear EDM incorporates a mechanical limited-slip differential for enhanced traction. Customizable regenerative braking allows drivers to adjust braking levels, thereby optimizing efficiency and range. Additionally, the models feature PowerShot mode, which offers a temporary 40 horsepower boost, and multiple driving modes, including Drag, Track, and Drift.

Externally, the new Charger features a muscular design with a patent-pending front R-Wing for improved downforce and a distinctive visual profile. The interior includes a driver-focused cockpit with large digital displays, immersive interior lighting with 64 color options, and high-quality materials.

The Charger also includes comprehensive safety and driving assistance technologies. Production of the two-door coupe versions of the 2024 Dodge Charger Daytona Scat Pack and R/T is expected to begin in mid-2024, with four-door versions anticipated in early 2025. These models highlight Dodge’s commitment to blending muscle car heritage with advanced electric vehicle technology, aiming to set new benchmarks in performance and sustainability.
