Do you remember when we used to hate Nazis? I do. A recent march in Columbus makes me think not many others do remember, but there was a time when we helped defeat Nazis and win a pretty significant war. A world war, if you will. One of the tools used to help defeat the Nazis the last time was the Jeep Willys MB, and Jeep is paying homage to that workhorse of the battlefield with a special edition.
Built on top of a 4xe plug-in hybrid, the 2025 Jeep Wrangler Willy’s ’41 Special Edition wears military olive-drag-inspired green paint with Drab Blue decals. An optional tan soft top will finish off the look. Exclusive period-style wheels with 33-inch tires help add to the capability, and the Willys hardware like a rear-locker is on board.
“Eight decades after cementing a reputation for all-terrain capability, straightforward design and tough versatility, the spirit of the original Willys MB lives on in everything we do at Jeep brand,” said Bob Broderdorf, senior vice president and head of Jeep brand North America. “The new 2025 Jeep Wrangler 4xe Willys ’41 is a testament to that heritage. It’s a celebration of our past that inspires us, while we keep pushing the boundaries of capability and innovation.”
The order banks are open now for this special edition, with an MSRP of right around $60,000.
The Toledo Jeep plant built 360,000 vehicles during the war, with war reporter Ernie Pyle being quoted as saying, “It did everything. It went everywhere. Was as faithful as a dog, as strong as a mule, and as agile as a goat. It constantly carried twice what it was designed for and still kept going.” While it wasn’t the only thing that helped the Allies defeat Hitler, it played a significant role on and off the battlefield and established itself as a legend that still exists today.
