Renault has introduced the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric, a new model that highlights the company’s commitment to sustainable and innovative mobility. Inspired by the classic Renault 5, this electric vehicle combines nostalgic design with modern technology, addressing contemporary issues like energy conservation and carbon emissions.
The Renault 5 E-Tech Electric is a key element of Renault’s “Renaulution” strategy, marking a significant step toward electric mobility and technological advancement. It will be manufactured entirely in France, with a starting price of approximately €25,000, positioning it competitively in the small city car segment. The project involved collaboration among various Renault Group entities, including Ampere and Mobilize, to harness expertise in electric vehicles and software.
This model retains the playful and modern aesthetic of its predecessor while incorporating a “retrofuturistic” style with vibrant colors and unique lighting. It features advanced technologies, including a bidirectional charger compatible with V2L and V2G systems, and offers a range of up to 400 km WLTP. The Renault 5 E-Tech Electric also focuses on safety, comfort, and connectivity, boasting an intuitive multimedia system and introducing “Reno,” an official Renault avatar designed to enhance the driving experience.
Renault’s commitment to sustainability is reflected in the vehicle’s production, which emphasizes local supplier networks and aims for an 85% recyclability rate. The car will be assembled and its batteries produced in France, reinforcing Renault’s dedication to a circular economy.
Scheduled for launch in September 2024, the Renault 5 E-Tech Electric is set to combine technological innovation with environmental responsibility, catering to the evolving demands of modern mobility.
