Peugeot has introduced the new E-408, a fully electric version of the 408, completing the brand’s electric vehicle lineup. This follows the release of the plug-in hybrid version in 2022. The new E-408 offers a 157 kW (210 hp) motor with zero emissions, powered by a 58.2 kWh NMC battery. It is capable of a range of up to 453 km on a full charge, according to the WLTP cycle. The vehicle is designed to blend dynamic fastback styling with a fully electric drivetrain, and it will be manufactured at Peugeot’s Mulhouse plant.
The E-408 benefits from Peugeot’s Allure Care program, which provides an 8-year or 160,000 km warranty. This model stands out with its modern fastback design, making use of the Efficient Modular Platform (E-EMP2) to accommodate the battery without sacrificing interior space or comfort. The design also focuses on lowering the car’s center of gravity for improved road handling.
The new E-408’s exterior features include body-color grille treatment, LED headlights, and a light signature with three rear LED claws. The vehicle offers five color options: Okenite White, Obsession Blue, Selenium Grey, Elixir Red, and Perla Nera Black. Additionally, it comes equipped with Peugeot’s i-Cockpit system, featuring a customizable 10-inch 3D digital panel, wireless Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto integration.
The Peugeot E-408 is fitted with an 11 kW three-phase charger for AC charging, while it can accept up to 120 kW for DC fast charging, which can take the battery from 20% to 80% in around 30 minutes. The model also includes regenerative braking options and three drive modes—Normal, Sport, and Eco—depending on the driver’s preferences.
The E-408 is part of Peugeot’s strategy to become a leader in electric vehicles in Europe. The model joins other electrified vehicles in Peugeot’s portfolio, which now includes 12 electric passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. Peugeot aims to provide customers with efficiency, safety, and advanced technology in its electric models.
