Peugeot has revealed the new E-208 GTi at the 24 Hours of Le Mans circuit. The event took place in the Peugeot Fan Zone and featured executives including Alain Favey, CEO of Peugeot; Jean-Marc Finot, CEO of Stellantis Motorsport; Matthias Hossann, Head of Peugeot Design; and Paul di Resta, a driver for Team Peugeot TotalEnergies.

The E-208 GTi marks the return of the GTi designation on Peugeot’s B-segment model. This version is fully electric and features a 280-horsepower motor. According to the manufacturer, it can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.7 seconds and has a top speed of 180 km/h. The motor is the M4+ unit and produces 345 Nm of torque. Power is supplied by a 54 kWh CATL battery. The battery and thermal management systems have been designed with input from the company’s motorsport programs.

The chassis has been modified from the standard E-208 to enhance performance. Changes include a body lowered by 30 mm and widened tracks—56 mm at the front and 27 mm at the rear. Other updates include a limited-slip differential, Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires sized 215/40 R18, and a high-performance braking system featuring 355 mm front discs and four-piston calipers. Rear brakes are carried over from the standard E-208.

The design includes several references to earlier GTi models, especially the 205 GTi. These include red accents on both the exterior and interior, wider fender arches, and a front spoiler. The cabin features red seat belts, carpeting, and dashboard stitching. The seats are designed to provide lateral support for dynamic driving, and the steering wheel uses a combination of perforated red leather and Alcantara.

The E-208 GTi has a WLTP-rated range of approximately 350 km. Charging options include home AC charging, with a full charge estimated at 4 hours and 40 minutes using a 7.4 kW WallBox. Fast charging from 20 to 80 percent is claimed to take less than 30 minutes with a 100 kW DC charger. The car includes features such as vehicle-to-load functionality and a connected navigation system with route optimization for charging.

The E-208 GTi is developed by Peugeot Sport in cooperation with Peugeot Design and assembled with components sourced from French suppliers. The electric motor is produced at the Trémery plant in eastern France through a joint venture between Stellantis and Nidec.

Additional technology includes the Peugeot i-Cockpit layout, red-themed digital instrumentation, ambient lighting, and optional synthesized driving sound. The infotainment system includes Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and integrated navigation. The car is covered by an 8-year or 160,000 km warranty on both the vehicle and battery. A home WallBox and access to a European charging network via a Free2Move pass are included.
