Polestar 3 sets Guinness World Record for longest electric SUV journey

Polestar has set a Guinness World Record for the longest distance traveled by an electric SUV on a single charge. A Polestar 3 Long range Single motor variant covered 935.44 kilometers (581.3 miles) on public roads in the United Kingdom. The production-standard vehicle was not modified for the attempt and used 20-inch wheels with Michelin Sport 4 EV tires.

The record attempt took 22 hours and 57 minutes to complete in mixed weather conditions, including rain. Professional drivers Sam Clarke, Kevin Booker, and Richard Parker alternated every three hours. The vehicle achieved an efficiency of 12.1 kWh per 100 kilometers (19.5 kWh per 100 miles). It reached its WLTP-rated range of 706 kilometers (438 miles) with 20 percent battery capacity remaining and traveled an additional 12.8 kilometers (8 miles) after the display indicated zero percent before arriving at a charger.

The run was adjudicated by Guinness World Records judge Paulina Sapinska. Documentation included video footage, odometer and GPS readings, and battery data verified by Webfleet. The AA provided support for the attempt.

Polestar, headquartered in Gothenburg, Sweden, produces electric performance vehicles and operates in 28 global markets. Current models include the Polestar 2, Polestar 3, and Polestar 4, with additional models planned. The company aims to halve per-vehicle greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 and achieve climate neutrality across its value chain by 2040.
