Porsche has announced three new additions to its Taycan lineup, broadening the scope of its all-electric vehicles with enhanced features. The new Taycan GTS model, which offers up to 690 horsepower with Launch Control, is available in both sedan and Sport Turismo styles. Positioned as a balance between performance and daily usability, the GTS provides a high level of power, reaching 60 mph in 3.1 seconds. Porsche has also introduced the Taycan 4, an entry-level all-wheel-drive sedan aimed at combining efficiency with performance.
Across the Taycan range, improvements have been made to the powertrain, software, and charging efficiency. Updates include a new rear-axle motor that adds up to 107 horsepower, improved battery technology, and enhanced thermal management, allowing the Taycan to charge at up to 320 kW under ideal conditions. These changes also increase the maximum recuperation capacity to 400 kW.
The Taycan GTS models include a distinct Electric Sport Sound feature and sport-focused design elements such as high-gloss black detailing and exclusive 20- or 21-inch wheels. The interior features black leather elements with Race-Tex materials, Adaptive Sports Seats Plus, and a multifunction sport steering wheel. Additional features in the Taycan GTS include the Sport Chrono package, which enables a push-to-pass power boost function. Optional rear-axle steering and a GTS-specific chassis calibration enhance its handling and comfort.
The new Taycan 4 variant provides all-wheel drive in a sedan format, delivering up to 429 horsepower with the optional Performance Battery Plus. This model emphasizes efficiency and stability, with a front motor that activates only when needed, contributing to optimized performance. Standard features include 19-inch aero wheels, Matrix LED headlights, and Porsche Traction Management.
Porsche has set the starting price of the Taycan 4 at $103,300, while the Taycan GTS sedan begins at $147,900, with the GTS Sport Turismo priced at $149,800. All models are expected to be available at dealerships starting in late Q1 of 2025, with additional color options introduced across the lineup.
