Škoda Auto has revealed the Vision O, an electric concept car that previews the next generation of the company’s Modern Solid design language and its approach to estate vehicles. The concept introduces a redesigned interior, new technologies, and sustainable materials, with the production version expected to arrive in the next decade on a future Volkswagen Group platform.
The Vision O features a minimalist interior developed with a customer-first approach. A new Škoda Horizon Display spans more than 1.2 meters (about 3.9 feet) across the dashboard, complemented by a vertically oriented central touchscreen and a simplified control layout. The concept includes Škoda’s Bio-Adaptive Lighting system, which adjusts cabin illumination based on natural light cycles, as well as over 650 liters (22.95 cubic feet) of luggage capacity. Additional features include a portable Bluetooth speaker, a built-in refrigerator, integrated umbrellas, and wireless charging pods.
Artificial intelligence is central to the Vision O, with Škoda’s digital assistant Laura integrated throughout the vehicle and mobile ecosystem. Laura assists with navigation, meeting notes, route suggestions, and vehicle settings. The vehicle also offers autonomous driving capabilities designed to manage driving tasks under specific conditions. A Tranquil mode adjusts seating configurations, lighting, and infotainment displays for increased passenger comfort. The Vision O app extends the in-car experience to mobile devices, offering features such as remote customisation, cargo preparation, and personalised Horizon Display settings. Škoda’s MyŠkoda app will also be updated with AI-powered route planning using Google Gemini.
Sustainability is a central focus of the Vision O. The concept uses recycled and plant-based materials extensively, including 100% recycled polyester seat coverings, Ultrasuede NU with 65% plant-based content, and recycled leather flooring. A mono-material design philosophy is applied to simplify end-of-life recycling, including a 3D-printed Ultrasint TPU headrest designed for durability and comfort while reducing production waste.
On the exterior, the Vision O adopts a simplified design with optimised aerodynamics, integrating cooling vents, airflow channels, recessed door handles, and active louvers to improve efficiency and extend range. A new Tech-loop face mask and illuminated Škoda logo define the updated design language. The lighting system includes Škoda Cyber Lights, T-shaped rear lights, and adaptive animations that also signal when the vehicle is operating in autonomous mode. The body color features a gradient effect that transitions from warm to cool tones, using mica pearl pigments for visual contrast.
The Vision O measures 4,850 mm (190.9 inches) in length, 1,900 mm (74.8 inches) in width, and 1,500 mm (59.1 inches) in height. It incorporates dual charging ports capable of powering external devices and includes a panoramic roof for added interior openness. According to Škoda, the vehicle has been developed with a focus on efficiency, sustainability, and user experience, reflecting its goal of maintaining leadership in Europe’s estate vehicle segment.
