Audi has expanded its lineup of electric vehicles with the introduction of the Q6 Sportback e-tron models. These include the Q6 Sportback e-tron quattro and the higher-performance SQ6 Sportback e-tron. The vehicles utilize Audi’s Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture, which emphasizes performance, efficiency, and scalability. The models were first showcased at the 2024 Paris Motor Show.

According to Audi CEO Gernot Döllner, the Q6 Sportback e-tron represents a significant step in expanding Audi’s electric portfolio. The model combines Audi’s latest advancements in electric vehicle efficiency and performance with a focus on design. The Sportback’s sloping roofline and refined bodywork are meant to give the vehicle a sporty and elegant appearance, while still offering the practicality of an SUV.

The Q6 Sportback e-tron measures 187.9 inches long, 76.3 inches wide, and 65.2 inches high. It has a wheelbase of 114.1 inches, which results in a spacious interior, even for rear passengers. It also has a towing capacity of up to 4,400 pounds. The model is equipped with a 100 kWh battery (94.4 kWh usable capacity), which is expected to provide a driving range of around 300 miles, though official EPA estimates will be confirmed closer to the model’s release.

The design of the Q6 Sportback e-tron is a key feature, with a sleek silhouette and a sloping roofline that sits 1.4 inches lower than the SUV variant. The vehicle’s exterior includes several design elements intended to enhance its sporty image, including sharp lines and a fully closed Singleframe grille. The rear of the vehicle features a continuous light strip and a dynamic rear window design.

Inside, the Q6 Sportback e-tron offers a digital-focused design with Audi’s MMI panoramic display and optional passenger display. The use of high-quality materials and attention to ergonomic details create an interior aimed at occupant comfort. The vehicle’s infotainment system is powered by Android Automotive OS, and Audi’s voice assistant can recognize over 800 commands.

Both the Q6 Sportback e-tron quattro and the SQ6 Sportback e-tron come standard with a 100 kWh battery and dual-motor setup. The Q6 has a peak power output of 456 horsepower, while the SQ6 offers 509 horsepower. Both models feature Audi’s quattro all-wheel drive and a single-speed transmission. Full U.S. specifications will be released ahead of the model’s launch in 2025.

The vehicles also feature advanced driving dynamics, including a new front axle design and rear-biased torque distribution. Audi has equipped the Q6 Sportback e-tron with an adaptive air suspension and Frequency Selective Damping (FSD) system to improve ride comfort and handling. The vehicles can fast charge from 10% to 80% in around 21 minutes under optimal conditions using a 270 kW DC fast charger.

Audi has also introduced new lighting options for the Q6 Sportback e-tron, including up to eight customizable digital light signatures for the Matrix LED headlights. The rear lights feature digital OLED technology, allowing drivers to personalize the vehicle’s appearance through the Audi MMI or the myAudi app.

The Q6 Sportback e-tron is expected to enter the U.S. market in 2025, with full pricing and equipment details to be announced closer to the release date.
