Sony Honda Mobility Inc. (SHM) unveiled the Afeela 1 at CES 2025, marking the first model under the Afeela brand. Production will occur at an advanced facility in Ohio, with California sales expected in 2025 and initial deliveries projected for mid-2026. The vehicle is available for reservation on the Afeela website for a refundable fee of $200.
The Afeela 1 is offered in two trims: the Origin, priced at $89,900, and the Signature, starting at $102,900. Both trims include a three-year subscription covering various features such as the Afeela Intelligent Drive system, a personal agent, entertainment content, and 5G connectivity. The vehicle supports the Tesla Supercharging network and aims for a range of up to 300 miles, pending further development.
The Afeela 1 emphasizes advanced technology and intelligent design. Its Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) incorporate 40 sensors, including cameras, LiDAR, and radars, to enhance safety and reduce driving stress. Additionally, the Afeela Personal Agent enables voice-activated control of vehicle functions and provides recommendations to improve the travel experience. The cabin features tailored entertainment options, including a sound system and seat-specific displays, complemented by Sony’s noise-canceling technology.
The interior design utilizes plant-based and recycled materials for sustainability. The vehicle’s aesthetic prioritizes minimalism, with smooth surfaces and understated lines. Over-the-air updates will allow ongoing software improvements for both trims.
The Afeela 1 is expected to provide a refined driving experience through integrated motor, brake, and suspension controls, offering stable handling and ride comfort. The Signature trim includes additional features such as a rear entertainment system and a center camera monitoring system.
