Subaru of America has revealed the 2026 Trailseeker, the company’s second all-electric SUV, during the 2025 New York International Auto Show. The new model is scheduled to go on sale across the United States in 2026.
The Trailseeker features Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and is powered by dual electric motors located at the front and rear axles. These motors produce approximately 375 horsepower. The vehicle has a towing capacity of up to 3,500 pounds and 8.3 inches of ground clearance. It includes the X-MODE Dual-Mode System for different terrain conditions and features Grip Control and Downhill Assist Control.
The Trailseeker is equipped with a 74.7-kWh lithium-ion battery, which provides an estimated range of over 260 miles on a full charge. It includes an onboard battery preconditioning system to facilitate fast charging in various temperatures and supports NACS-compatible charging. The estimated 0-60 mph time is approximately 4.4 seconds.
Compared to the existing Solterra model, the Trailseeker offers more rear cargo space and a taller roof, which contributes to a more spacious cabin. The overall length is over six inches longer than the Solterra, and the vehicle is nearly an inch taller. Standard raised roof rails are included to provide additional utility.
Interior features include a flat floor, increased legroom, and a 14-inch touchscreen display, which is the largest ever installed in a Subaru vehicle. The system supports wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Trailseeker also has two wireless smartphone chargers and two USB-C ports for rear-seat passengers.
Exterior design elements include redesigned headlights, a new front bumper, and newly designed 18- and 20-inch wheels. The Trailseeker features a new lighting signature and illuminated Subaru six-star logo. At the rear, it has a 3D SUBARU badge and new gate garnish.
The Trailseeker includes Subaru’s EyeSight suite of safety and driver-assistance technologies. Standard features include Pre-Collision Braking, Front Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Monitors, Lane Departure Alert, panoramic view monitor, Emergency Stop Assist, Traffic Jam Assist, Lane Change Assist, and Advanced Adaptive Cruise Control.
Pricing and full specifications will be released closer to the launch date in 2026.
