Subaru of America has revealed the 2026 Subaru Uncharted, a new all-electric compact crossover that is scheduled to go on sale in the United States in early 2026. The Uncharted is the company’s first fully electric compact crossover and will be offered in Premium FWD, Sport, and GT trim levels.
The Uncharted will be powered by a 74.7-kWh lithium-ion battery. The entry-level Uncharted Premium trim is front-wheel drive only and delivers an estimated range of over 300 miles with 221 horsepower. Sport and GT trims feature Subaru’s Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system and dual electric motors producing a combined output of 338 horsepower. These versions are expected to achieve 0-60 mph acceleration in under five seconds and offer a manufacturer-estimated range of up to 290 miles.

Charging capability includes a NACS charge port supporting up to 150 kW DC fast charging. Subaru states the Uncharted can be charged from 10% to 80% in approximately 30 minutes, even in cold weather, thanks to an onboard battery preconditioning system. An 11-kW onboard charger supports Level One and Level Two home charging.
The 2026 Uncharted is smaller than the Subaru Solterra by nearly 7 inches in overall length but offers more than 25 cubic feet of cargo space behind the second row. Subaru highlights its turning radius as comparable to that of the Crosstrek, which may support maneuverability in urban settings. The vehicle’s structure incorporates high-strength steel and underfloor battery placement for added rigidity and performance on various surfaces.
Interior equipment includes a standard 14-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual wireless smartphone chargers, and USB-C ports for rear passengers. All models include the Subaru All-Weather Package, with heated front seats, heated exterior mirrors, and a windshield wiper de-icer. EyeSight driver assistance technologies are standard, with features such as Pre-Collision Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control, and Lane Departure Alert. Additional systems like Traffic Jam Assist and a panoramic view monitor are available on select trims.

Sport and GT trims provide added features such as a heated steering wheel, Subaru’s X-MODE Dual-Mode with Grip Control, and StarTex water-repellent upholstery. The GT trim also adds 20-inch wheels, ventilated front seats, a panoramic moonroof, Harman Kardon audio, and a smart rearview mirror.
Exterior design elements include Subaru’s latest lighting signature, available two-tone paint on GT trims, and either 18- or 20-inch wheels depending on trim. Roof rails are included on all-wheel-drive variants.
Pricing and additional technical specifications are expected to be released closer to the vehicle’s launch date.
