During the last Tesla earnings call, a dejected Elon Musk bragged about how he was able to retool all of his Model Y production facilities in the same few weeks to start rolling out the updated model. He said that was the reason why deliveries were terrible in the first quarter of 2025, and not because he’s a Nazi-sympathizer who supports far-right causes across the globe while taking a chainsaw to the United States government. It’s most certainly not that.
If you were looking for another reason to believe it was because of the Nazi stuff, look no further than Tesla’s April registrations in Europe. You see, in April of last year, Tesla wasn’t retooling its plants. And in April of this year, the new Model Y was already on sale. The results? Not good.
In Spain, year-over-year registrations were down 36%. In Germany, it was larger at 46%. In Belgium, the number was down 55%. In France, it was 59%. In the United Kingdom, the number was down 62%. In Denmark, it’s even worse at 67% down. In the Netherlands, it’s down a whopping 74%. Finally, in Sweden, the number is down 81%.
This is already on top of massive declines in previous months of the year. While the stock price doesn’t seem to reflect how absolutely in trouble Tesla is, the company is definitely in trouble. Musk spending more time at Tesla won’t save it, either, because Elon Musk is the stink on Tesla that’s crushing the brand.
How soon will the factory in Berlin remain open? It can’t be too much longer now, with these numbers, and how they continue to get worse and worse each and every month.
