The Toyota bZ4X is set to receive updates for the European market, featuring enhancements to its battery options, charging capabilities, and driving performance. Similar to the Toyota C-HR+, the bZ4X will be available with two lithium-ion battery configurations. The base model is equipped with a 57.7 kWh battery, while an upgraded version features a 73.1 kWh battery, extending the estimated driving range by approximately 70 kilometers (43 miles) compared to the current model.
The updated bZ4X introduces battery pre-conditioning for the first time in a Toyota electric vehicle. This function optimizes battery temperature before rapid charging, aiming to enable charging in approximately 30 minutes under cold conditions. The model also features improvements in efficiency through an updated eAxle system, which contributes to the extended driving range.
Driving performance has been refined through an increase in eAxle output and adjustments to the suspension system. These updates are intended to enhance ride quality, handling, and overall quietness. The vehicle will be available in both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations, with power output ranging from 123 kW (165 horsepower) to 252 kW (338 horsepower). Acceleration from 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) varies from 8.6 seconds for the base model to 5.1 seconds for the highest-performance version.
The bZ4X measures 4,690 millimeters (184.6 inches) in length, 1,860 millimeters (73.2 inches) in width, and 1,650 millimeters (65 inches) in height, with a wheelbase of 2,850 millimeters (112.2 inches).
The updated bZ4X is scheduled for a European launch in the second half of 2025. While specific details on availability outside of Europe have not been announced, it is expected that the model will be introduced in North America at a later date.
