Jaguar Land Rover will temporarily suspend shipments of vehicles to the United States throughout April. The pause is in response to recently enacted U.S. tariffs on foreign car imports.
The U.S. government has implemented a 25% tariff on all foreign vehicles entering the country. Additional tariffs on certain auto parts are also expected by early May.
A Jaguar Land Rover spokesperson said the company is implementing short-term measures, including the shipment pause, while it works with business partners to address the new trade environment. The company is also developing mid- and long-term strategies in response to the changes.
Jaguar Land Rover described the United States as a significant market for its luxury brands. The broader automotive industry is experiencing disruptions due to the new tariffs, which are affecting global supply chains and manufacturing operations across North America.
Other automakers have reacted by adjusting pricing structures, adding import surcharges, reducing production, and, in some cases, initiating workforce reductions.
