Volkswagen of America, Inc. has announced the pricing and EPA-estimated range for the upcoming ID. Buzz, an electric version of the classic Microbus. The ID. Buzz will be available in three models: the Pro S starting at $59,995, the Pro S Plus at $63,495, and the 1st Edition at $65,495. Rear-wheel-drive models will have an EPA-estimated range of 234 miles on a full charge, while the all-wheel-drive models will offer 231 miles of range.
The design of the ID. Buzz features a retro aesthetic, incorporating elements from the original Microbus but updated for modern appeal. Key design features include a large Volkswagen logo, short overhangs, and a spacious cabin with several customizable exterior and interior color options. The ID. Buzz models come with three interior design themes exclusive to the North American market: Copper, Dune, and Moonlight. Copper features brown leatherette with yellow piping and a wood-look dash. Dune, first showcased in 2023, offers light grey leatherette with clay-colored accents and a light wood-look dash. Moonlight includes dark brown leatherette with white piping, blue accents, and a dark wood-look dash.
The base model, ID. Buzz Pro S, is rear-wheel-drive and seats up to seven passengers with a starting MSRP of $59,995. This model offers single-tone exterior colors like Candy White, Deep Black Pearl, and Metro Silver, and interior options of Copper and Moonlight. Standard features include 20-inch aluminum-alloy wheels, LED headlights, adaptive front-lighting, and various tech features such as a 12.9-inch infotainment display and the ID. Light driver support system. The vehicle is equipped with multiple driver assistance technologies, including park assist and dynamic road sign display.
The Pro S Plus model builds on the Pro S and starts at $63,495 for the rear-wheel-drive version, with an all-wheel-drive version priced at $67,995. This model offers additional features such as a head-up display, Area View camera system, and a 700-watt harman/kardon sound system. The Pro S Plus also includes the Easy Open and Close feature for the sliding rear doors and tailgate. The model is available in two-tone exterior options for an additional $995. The Pro S Plus includes a range of seating configurations and additional options such as a smart glass roof, priced at $1,495.
The launch-only 1st Edition model starts at $65,495 for rear-wheel-drive and $69,995 for all-wheel-drive. This edition includes the Dune interior theme and comes with five two-tone exterior color options. In addition to the features of the Pro S trim, the 1st Edition includes special 20-inch wheels, roof rail cross bars, and 1st Edition badging. Other enhancements include the electrochromic panoramic glass roof, a premium sound system, and a Flexboard for cargo space.
