Volkswagen has introduced the ID. Every1, a concept vehicle previewing an entry-level electric model expected to launch in 2027. The vehicle is positioned within Volkswagen’s broader electrification strategy and will be priced at approximately €20,000 ($21,700 USD). The ID. Every1 is part of the Electric Urban Car Family, which includes the previously announced ID. 2all, set for release in 2026 with a starting price of around €25,000 ($27,100 USD).

The ID. Every1 is built on Volkswagen’s modular electric drive (MEB) platform, featuring front-wheel drive. The vehicle measures 3,880 mm (152.8 inches) in length, positioning it between the now-discontinued up! model and the Polo. It offers space for four occupants and a cargo volume of 305 liters (10.8 cubic feet). The concept version is powered by a 70 kW (95 horsepower) electric motor and has a top speed of 130 km/h (81 mph). The estimated range is at least 250 kilometers (155 miles).

Volkswagen plans to offer over-the-air software updates and upgrades for the production model. The company states that the ID. Every1 will be the first model in the Volkswagen Group to feature a new, more powerful software architecture, allowing for updates throughout the vehicle’s lifespan.

The concept vehicle follows Volkswagen’s design language, which aims to balance a bold appearance with accessibility. The company describes the vehicle’s front lighting and rear design as providing a distinct identity.

Volkswagen’s long-term electrification strategy includes the introduction of nine new models by 2027, with four of these based on the new MEB front-wheel-drive platform. The company’s broader vision for the brand, outlined in the “Future Volkswagen” agreement, focuses on economic stability, employment, and technological leadership in sustainable mobility.

Volkswagen’s three-phase plan includes strengthening competitiveness, expanding its model range, and increasing its position as a high-volume manufacturer of electric vehicles by 2030. The ID. Every1 is one of the key models in this strategy, alongside the ID. 2all, as Volkswagen aims to provide affordable electric mobility for a wider market.
